017 / Milkman - by Anne de Vries
"Milkman jokes, though they appear in dozens of different forms, all have the same basic plot: a woman gives birth to an infant who more closely resembles the local milkman than her husband, revealing the child's biological father and, in the process, the mother's adultery."

"Did I have a problem? I didn’t like to see it in such stark terms. Obsession is a much more ubiquitous visitor in all of our lives, but doesn’t always travel under such a pejorative name. What if we called it passion? That was a good thing if I remember correctly."

012 / son:DA
The world of digital technologies, of electronic sounds and images, seems to be the natural surrounding for son:DA. In their work, though, they are not fascinated with the endless possibilities of new technologies. rather, they are critical and ironical towards such fascinations. The constant multiplication of new technologies and their effects turns into noise, just as the actual physical space gets crowded with electric wires, cables, and piles of hardware that used to be brand new, cutting edge technologie. The works of son:DA are often deliberately simple and restrained, sometimes using very basic technical possibilities that stress an "underground" feeling.

Second Tuesday Lecture Series at the Minnesota Center for Photography. November 13th, 7:00 p.m.
“My roles as a father and as a photographer are intertwined. One barely exists without the other. Both offer moments of transcendence and pure joy. But both also offer moments of sheer terror, guilt, insecurity, and sometimes, fear. Raising a family […]

007 / reminds of more of the scary korean movies instead
"The biggest inspiration of this lighting is my mother’s knitting hobbies during my childhood. Her knitted sweaters and gloves remind me of the good days of my childhood. I saw the neat pile of electric wires as yarns and soon decided to knit (weave) my own. Rather than knitting with needles, I developed a new way of weaving the rubber but solid wires into long, scarf-like or brush-like form of lighting. They are weaved by one long wire, which varies in length-from 10 to 300meters."

I’ve really got to stop looking at so many design sites.
So many design schools. So many graduates each and every semester. Each looking to make their mark… at any cost.
I propose a moratorium on all things ‘designed.’

005 / Craig Cowiling a.k.a Naughty James
I have a great debt to a young woman called Samantha Edwards, a beautiful girlfriend of mine that never took a bad photo. We had so many laughs especially one evening which contained nothing other than three bottles of moet, a length of carpet, and a desklamp. To this day, I still regard the photographs I took on that night as to be the best I have ever produced. The rest of the girls and boys in the photographs are indeed my harem of lovers. I only photograph my lovers.
004 / maarit hohteri, mikko hung over.
I photograph to remember my life and people who are important. I take pictures of people close to me, I try to record the feelings and perceptions that my friends have about life. My photographs are observations on what happens around me, and by taking pictures I try to preserve moments that exist at any particular time. For me, taking photographs is one way to create a sense of continuity and meaning in this world. It is an attempt to make a seemingly fractured life in to a whole; a story with a past, present and future.
